Project overview

In 2002 Lenox, Inc. acquired Dansk, the tabletop brand noted for its mid-century Scandinavian design influence.  Lenox commissioned Michael Graves Design to re-invent the Dansk brand by infusing it with a more youthful contemporary style while respecting its storied Scandinavian roots.

The ceramic cookware combined classic Scandinavian design with a modern twist using form and colors.
The Tip.C glasswares feature whimsy, wit, and elegance.

Having already successfully reinvented parent company Lenox’s brand assets, logo, packaging and store design, Michael Graves Design was ideally positioned to help Lenox refresh the recently acquired Dansk housewares brand by leveraging its deep experience in housewares product design with Alessi and Target. The tabletop collection of over 100 pieces embraced the vision that the two companies shared: to create high-quality products that combine cutting edge design and technology with ease of use.

The Dansk Graves Studio Collection transformed Dansk into a modern, design-relevant table top and house wares company, thus opening specialty distribution channels that were heretofore closed to the company when its style focus was limited to mid-century Danish modernism.

Prep.E features nesting prep wares that function for both multipurpose and space saving.
