The Children’s Guild charter school in Washington, DC serves 550 students in Kindergarten through 8th grade and a staff of 65. The 60,000-SF facility was converted to a school from its previous business occupancy. The owner’s vision was to provide a unique and fun experience for students through Trans¬formation Education (TranZed) and real-world lessons. The colorful, art-filled interior environment thus plays a large role in defining opportunities for formal and informal learning and collaboration.
