East TN Children’s Hospital Urgent Care

The design team was enlisted to create a facility that would enable East Tennessee Children’s Hospital Urgent Care to function cooperatively with a related rehabilitation therapy group. While the two groups function separately, they share the lobby, reception area with separate sick and well zones, restrooms, and staff break room. The “racetrack” clinic layout includes a central staff core used by both groups. The completed project offers a welcoming, accessible healthcare facility that effectively serves children in the North Knoxville area. Creative elements like rigid wall protection cut into wave forms offer a lively and fun aesthetic for children.
