In 2013, upon its centennial celebration, the Forsyth Country Club decided it was time to upgrade its Fitness Center which was dated, below grade and only 1800 square feet at the time. With a long history steeped in tradition, the desire was to create a state-of-the-art sports house with an established feel and design elements in keeping with the original, Georgian style clubhouse.
The main entrance and personal training areas provide the look and feel of a high-end resort fitness center, with fitness classrooms clearly reflective of their individual uses. One might feel they are entering into a cross fit studio when they step into the group exercise studio, while a Zen feeling greets members at the door of the mind/body studio. The cycle studio provides the high-energy feeling of “pedaling full speed ahead at dusk” accompanied by loud, thumping bass and beats. With a design for the new Fitness Center grounded in the club’s roots, members now experience the luxury of a high-end resort exercise facility right in their own backyard.
