Dramatically sited on a steeply sloping property overlooking Lake Geneva, this elegant and commodious residence is entered from a formal drive court and gradually reveals views of the lake as one progresses through the plan. A model for energy-efficiency, the prefabricated cedar wood and glass wall system known as Lucido effectively regulates the building’s temperature so that it requires no heating or cooling except for a few days a year. The interiors incorporate paneling, railings and furniture from the decommissioned ocean liner SS France that the client fondly recalls from voyages he took with his family as a child.
