Karns Fire Department was in need of a new headquarters to better serve the fastest growing area of Knox County. The Michael Graves team worked diligently to deliver a 19,000 SF facility that now stands ready to serve as the central hub for the department’s operations.
The completed headquarters includes administrative office space and customer service areas, as well as a fully integrated fire station. Key features of the facility include three apparatus bays, six bunk rooms with infrastructure in place for future expansion to ten, and comprehensive support spaces tailored to the needs of modern fire station operations.
Additionally, the facility houses a large multipurpose room designed for firefighter training and community events. The site also includes a four-story training tower and an accessory storage building, supporting the department’s long-term growth and training capabilities.
