The historic terminal building at Forsyth County’s Smith Reynolds Airport has served as the front door to the community since it opened in 1941. Changes in capacity and function eroded the character of the building over time. The renovation restored signature architectural features to their original luster and modernized the facility for travelers and tenants, inside and out.

Featuring a Reynolds-era aircraft

While improvements to the facades, building systems, and tenant spaces upgraded the appearance, operations, and functionality of the building, the donation of a Reynolds-era aircraft became the centerpiece of the project. The aircraft is hung high up in the lobby and completes the story of this airport and its place in aviation history.
