Preserving a historic warehouse

The mixed-use development known as “The Colonel” creates significant market value while preserving a historic landmark on the site. It is also an example of the firm’s success in working with the ANC, the Historic Preservation Review Board, and the Zoning Commission to gain approvals. The project is located in the Blagdon Alley historic neighborhood and comprises new construction of three buildings around an existing historic warehouse. The highest mass of new construction is located along N and 7th Streets; a series of setbacks preserves the significance of the warehouse. The program includes 70 residential units above 10,000 SF of ground-floor retail.
