Reflecting the beachfront context

While originally commissioned to design the hotel layout and interiors (for a different operator), we saw an opportunity to improve the facades and make the building friendlier to the neighborhood behind it. The massing, with its distinctive curving profile, was pre-determined by zoning, but we were able to give it a character appropriate to southern Florida. In reference to the sunny beachfront context, the stucco facades and railings are colored cream and blue, and the circular openings make a nautical reference. Also, the shift in size from the five-story portion of the building to the tower helps break down the mass to a more domestic scale.  With their uninterrupted panoramic views, the Sky Deck and pool at the 6th level provide memorable experiences for the guests.
