We worked with Wake Forest University to master plan and design a multi-year renovation of the former Ernie Shore Field, which the University had acquired from the City of Winston-Salem. Building out Phases 3 and 4 of the plan included a new baseball clubhouse. Demolition of the third base side of the stadium made room for the addition of a baseball locker room, lounge, equipment room, sports medicine facilities, weight room enhancements, an indoor batting facility, and an indoor pitching lab. The pitching lab was designed in partnership with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with the goal of monitoring the players’ pitching movements and providing analytical data used to train and enhance the performance of the Wake Forest pitching staff and protect them from injury. The second floor of the addition includes coaches’ offices and suites overlooking the field, a team meeting room, a concession stand, and a hall of legends.
A clubhouse fit for the greats
