Enhancing recruiting, training, and team building
This 3-level Football Complex is directly connected to WFU’s Sports Performance Center and Indoor Football Practice Facility. It enhances the recruiting experience, supplements existing sports medicine space relative to rest and recovery, and enables team building and collaboration.
Level 1 provides a new football locker room, lounge and restrooms, adjacent taping and treatment, sports medicine, hydrotherapy with hot and cold spa tubs, player equipment storage, and laundry areas. The locker room’s 130 lockers feature secure storage, customizable LED lighting, and internal drying fans capable of drying the player’s helmet, shoulder pads, and cleats within a few hours.
The players’ lounge includes a barber shop, pool tables, ping pong, individual recovery pods, and a nutrition zone along with gaming stations and A/V capabilities. Level 2 includes a team event space overlooking McCreary Field House. The event space includes seating for approximately 200 occupants, a catering kitchen and serving area. Shell space to accommodate future program expansion is provided on the second and third floors.
