Transportation architecture – airports, seaplane and yacht centers, railway and bus stations, visitors centers, and even parking structures – are nodes along the network of passageways. With the rise of interest in complete streets that balance pedestrian and vehicular movement, we have been planning multi-modal experiences within cities and on campuses, focused on sustainable practices and wayfinding. The associated buildings, especially large-scale parking decks, while pragmatic and utilitarian, also have the opportunity to contribute to the character and fabric of the surroundings. With unique programs such as seaplane terminals, we have the opportunity to be more experimental and create iconic structures and inspiring experiences.
